NHS ODS weekly prescribing-related data (retired)
This item was retired in October 2025 - there will be no further releases.
The releases available here are for reference only. Contact ODS if you would like copies of older releases.
The ODS Data Search and Export (DSE) tool lets you create and save data extracts that contain only the data you need. Because the data refreshes daily, you can run them on a schedule that meets your needs rather than one that ODS dictates.
DSE includes predefined reports that replicate the legacy CSV files. There is an API endpoint that supports automated downloads of these predefined reports as bundles. For details, see the help and guidance available on the DSE pages.
Refer to the ODS Reference Data Catalogue for data definitions and report specifications.
The historic reference-only releases available here are complete data files for general practitioners (GPs), GP practices, branch surgeries, pharmacy headquarters and dispensaries. Releases include weekly data amendments, but exclude the practitioner amendment file.
Contact ODS if you have questions: ssd.nationalservicedesk@nhs.net or 0300 303 5035.
