Release notes for TRUD version 2021.10

Released on 22 October 2021.

A new platform

TRUD has moved from the HM Land Registry Data Centre to the Amazon Web Services cloud computing platform.

This is a major milestone for TRUD and we’ve taken this opportunity to make a few improvements.

Your subscriptions

You’ll see a ‘Your subscriptions’ section on the home page if you have at least one subscription. Up to 10 links to release pages will appear here.

If you have more than 10 subscriptions you’ll also see a link to the new Your subscriptions page.

Subscription management

The old subscription management page has been replaced with the new Your subscriptions page.

This new page begins with a list of links to the release pages of your subscriptions, followed by a ‘Subscription management’ section where you can see details of each subscription, including a download link to the latest release file and its SHA-256 hash.

SHA-256 hashes

For each release file we now provide its SHA-256 hash. Read more on the new SHA-256 hashes help page.

Quick item links

You’ll see a ‘Quick item links’ section on each category page. This will save you having to scroll through item summary boxes to find the item you want.

Items to which you’re subscribed are marked with .

Updated password criteria

We’ve updated the critieria for new passwords in line with current best practice:

  • Minimum length – 10 characters without requiring a mix of character types
  • Must not match previous 4 passwords
  • Not detected as a common password, for example Password123, Winter2018
  • Not detected as a breached password (a password used for an account that has previously been compromised)

Updated API endpoint

The release list endpoint URI was updated. We changed trud3 to trud, so the endpoint is now /trud/api/v1/keys/deadc0de/items/999/releases.

We’ve added a redirect rule to handle this update, but if you’re using curl you may need to add the --location argument to calls to curl in your automation scripts to follow the redirect.

We’ve updated the sample scripts in the API guide to use the new URI.
